Paint Prep

My mum says "a bit of what you fancy does you good", and over the last few weeks I have fancied playing with paint. The welding is all done, and now I am left with a dusty, grotty looking shell which needs fettling and attention to detail as far as the eye can see. Except it is starting to look better as I have begun rubbing down and turning the whole world grey.

The idea is to have the car ready for topcoat in the summer (all two days of it) and going over the car with a sander is very therapeutic, watching surfaces become smoother and "bits" disappear. I pulled my old Fiac compressor out of the woodwork and cleaned up my spray gun, to put some thick primer over the rear quarters, right hand door shut and engine bay. This isn't supposed to be a beautiful job, but rather one that will allow a good solid base coat for rubbing down. Cellulose is very forgiving like that, and works especially well over the top of Halfords spray primer-filler.

Oh, one other thing - I have entered the video age. Enjoy my cinematic masterpiece.
